Just nine days and eight nights in Botswana revealed the country’s incredible diversity, moving through Chobe, Khwai, the Okavango Delta, and Nxai Pan. Charter flights between camps offered breathtaking views of winding waterways and shifting landscapes, with guides waiting at each airstrip so the adventure began immediately. Their knowledge and patience made every moment richer, from tracking elusive wild dogs to spotting leopards and lions, and pointing out the small details often missed at first glance. Spending two nights at each camp felt like the perfect balance, making my first safari experience one that will remain unforgettable from start to finish.

Tip #1: Plan your trip toward the end of the dry season for excellent game viewing with fewer crowds and lower costs. The low/green season from December to March is even quieter and offers a very different, more lush safari experience.

Tip #2: Staying at camps operated by the same safari company can help reduce costs, especially for solo travelers who may otherwise pay a single supplement.

My time in Japan was unforgettable, even though I wasn’t able to capture as many photos or visit as many places as I had hoped. Frequent typhoons often prevented the ship from docking, which meant plans changed quickly and some ports had to be missed. Despite that, every place I did see left a lasting impression.

From the quiet charm of Shirakawa-go to the ancient temples and modern skyscrapers, Japan offers an incredible blend of history, culture, and scenery. I wish to return sooner than later and look forward to experiencing everything Japan has to offer and capture many more photos!

Going through some old photos brought back how much I truly enjoyed Alaska. From flying over glaciers to spotting wildlife, every day offered something incredible. Sailing through its fjords and inlets was just as memorable, with scenery that never seemed to get old.

If you ever have the chance to visit Alaska, I highly recommend it. The landscapes, the wildlife, and the overall experience are unlike anywhere else.
