Just nine days and eight nights in Botswana revealed the country’s incredible diversity, moving through Chobe, Khwai, the Okavango Delta, and Nxai Pan. Charter flights between camps offered breathtaking views of winding waterways and shifting landscapes, with guides waiting at each airstrip so the adventure began immediately. Their knowledge and patience made every moment richer, from tracking elusive wild dogs to spotting leopards and lions, and pointing out the small details often missed at first glance. Spending two nights at each camp felt like the perfect balance, making my first safari experience one that will remain unforgettable from start to finish.
Tip #1: Plan your trip toward the end of the dry season for excellent game viewing with fewer crowds and lower costs. The low/green season from December to March is even quieter and offers a very different, more lush safari experience.
Tip #2: Staying at camps operated by the same safari company can help reduce costs, especially for solo travelers who may otherwise pay a single supplement.
